For the past ten years, CLB has assisted Anheuser-Busch with its operations and investments in Mexico. Currently, Anheuser-Busch has invested U.S. $1.5 billion in Mexico's leading brewery, Grupo Modelo. CLB is responsible for the day to day monitoring of all legislative issues that could directly or indirectly impact the beer industry in Mexico. CLB has conducted several specific studies for Anheuser-Busch relating to their activities in Mexico and their interests in other Latin American markets.

CLB continues to provide insight and recommendations on the operations of Anheuser-Busch in Mexico, with particular emphasis on the Anheuser-Busch/Grupo Modelo corporate and personal relationships.

CLB has served as Greyhound Bus Lines's marketing consultant in Mexico. CLB helped develop the company's strategic business direction for Mexico and Central and South America and assisted the key executives of its Mexican subsidiary with the implementation of that direction. CLB services involved keeping Greyhound abreast of daily developments in the bus industry in Mexico and government attitudes regarding implementation of NAFTA provisions affecting the industry.

CLB was retained by International Paper to evaluate the potential of its plans to establish commercial plantations in Mexico. Once this initiative was deemed positive, CLB was charged with the task of establishing commercial plantations as a national development priority within Mexico and in implementing federal legislation that would support the plantations through direct incentives. The assignment also included extensive market research on the paper and forest products industry in Mexico as well as arranging for high level interaction between state and federal officials in Mexico and the appropriate key executives in International Paper.

Largely as a result of these efforts, Mexico has currently established a national program for commercial plantations and has begun to distribute the monies it has set aside to subsidize their development.

CLB worked with Louisiana Pacific in determining the best market strategy to be used to supply its plants in Texas with wood products from the Mexican market. The assignment included on site visits to seven Mexican states, a series of meetings with key forest suppliers in Mexico and an evaluation of transportation and port facility alternatives.

CLB facilitated the Associates' exploration of, and entry into, the Mexican market. This assignment included the formulation of various strategies, the identification and evaluation of potential Mexican financial partners, as well as the many negotiations required to establish such a relationship. The Associates currently has 40 offices in Mexico and continues its rapid and successful expansion.

CLB has been very involved in the restructuring of this food manufacturer since the company was purchased at the end of 1996 by the Dallas investment firm of Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst. CLB's assignment has involved assessing the management team's strengths and weaknesses, establishing a communications plan for the company and assisting the firm with its transition from a traditional Mexican operating company to one prepared to meet the demands and expectations of a fast moving US corporation.

CLB worked with the premier golfbag manufacturer in the United States to establish maquila operations in Mexico. The assignment has involved evaluating customs policy as well as assuring that the facility for making golf bags is fully operational.

CLB assisted IHC in evaluating the market potential for its services in several strategic Mexican locations.

CLB was charged with conducting focus group and consumer research for American Airlines in several cities in Mexico.

CLB helped one of the world’s largest oil and chemical companies test a new service concept.

CLB has been working with one of the largest casual dining restaurant chains in the United States to identifying franchise partners in Mexico, Central and South America as well as Asia and Europe.

CLB supports one of the world’s largest theme park operators with government relations work in Mexico.
